Message from Chief Medical Director
It is our privilege to announce that Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Geta Eye Hospital, Geta, Kailali, established in 1981, has launched its website. It is the only non-profit community-based leading tertiary eye hospital in Sudur Paschim province of Nepal. The hospital is providing comprehensive eye care services to the people of this province, its neighboring districts, and northern India. The hospital has a network of three secondary eye hospitals, two surgical eye care centers, and 18 primary eye care centers to cover all nine districts of Sudur Paschim province. We have a highly qualified team of medical, administrative, and support staff. At the base hospital, we have much-needed sub-specialty services. The hospital also conducts free community outreach camps in remote locations in this province. Besides this, we conduct school eye screenings, distribute free spectacles to children with refractive error, and provide basic eye health training to school teachers, female community health volunteers (FCHVs), health workers, drug retailers, and traditional healers.

As a result of the dedication of the team, helping hands, and the trust of the community, the hospital was able to reduce the prevalence of blindness in this province from 1.02% in 1981 to 0.21% in 2021.
