Orbital and occuloplasty clinic deals with eyelid, orbit and lacrimal system diseases. Patient with eyelid and orbital trauma, ocular and orbital tumors, eyelid and orbital anomalies come to this clinic.
The common ocular conditions we see in this clinic are variety of eyelid disorder including interning and outward turning of eyelid, drooping of eyelid (Ptosis), eyelid tumors and obstruction in tear drainage system both in children and adult. This clinic also deals with cosmetic surgeries including blepharoplasty.
Common occuloplastic surgeries done in our hospital are:
- Entropion and ectropion correction
- Ptosis repair
- Dacryocystorhinostomy surgery
- Lid laceration repair
- Lid mass/tumor excision with or without reconstruction of eye lid.
- Probing under general anaesthesia in children for congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
- Canalicular laceration repair with silicon tube
Botulinum toxin injections are given for therapeutic purpose i.e. for essential blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm.
